Orthodontic Treatment in Castro Valley, CA

For most people, a beautiful smile is the most obvious benefit of orthodontics. After your braces come off, you'll feel more self-confident! Improving your oral health is a less obvious benefit of orthodontics as well, as a well-positioned jaw leads to better function and straight teeth are easier to keep clean.

While you’re a patient at Castro Valley Orthodontics, we want you to feel as comfortable as possible. Our office inspires smiles, whether you are playing one of our portable video games, or checking out a family-friendly movie in the reception area. Don’t forget our annual ice cream social for patient appreciation with prizes, face painting, and henna!

How Orthodontic Treatment Works

The first step in your new smile is your complimentary consultation. During this visit, a member of our team will perform a screening to ensure that orthodontic treatment is necessary. This includes a space analysis and bite-alignment check.

If you can benefit from orthodontic treatment, you have several choices of treatment methods, depending on your budget and lifestyle.

Whether you choose traditional metal braces, clear braces, or Invisalign® clear aligners, the basic process of orthodontic treatment is the same. Each method places light, controlled pressure on each tooth, allowing them to be guided to an ideal, straight position. The slow movement allows the breakdown of bone tissue and creates new bone tissue to secure the teeth in their new ideal positions.

Visits to our Castro Valley orthodontic office are spaced six to eight weeks apart, depending on the type of appointment that is needed each time. Your total length of treatment depends on your orthodontic needs. It can last anywhere from six months to two or more years depending on the complexity of your case. Your treatment length will be discussed at your consultation, so you’ll know what to expect every step of the way.
